Where Florida's money in politics is recorded, and what the wire will pull from it
Three public databases hold most of the record: state campaign finance reports, federal filings and the registry of lobbyists who work the Capitol.

Campaign finance is the record of the money raised and spent to win elections. In Florida, candidates for state office, political committees and political parties report their contributions and expenditures to the Florida Division of Elections, which publishes the reports in a searchable database; candidates for county and city office generally file with their local supervisor of elections or city clerk, and candidates for federal office report to the Federal Election Commission. Dorworth News reports from those filings directly and links each story to the reports it uses.
