A primary source is the original record of an event or decision: the filing, the ruling, the bill, the dataset or the release, rather than an account of it. Dorworth News reports from primary sources, keeps a copy of each document it relies on in its source library with a SHA-256 hash of the stored file, and lists the documents under every story. The DNS wire draws only on primary sources, never on other news outlets.
